Everyday Etymology

In May of 2020 I started a new channel about language called Everyday Etymology. The channel features two animated (I use the term loosely) characters named Calvus and Rufus, and the videos cover various topics in linguistics, from specific word origins to broader concepts and questions about language. I currently do all of the research, writing, audio, and video production by myself. It’s a labor of love and a happy marriage of my interests in language and content creation.

James Rodkey

I started my personal channel many years ago as a way to motivate myself to practice playing bass more consistently. This channel is just a place for me to post playthrough videos of songs I learn to play on bass.
